Zynga

Game Designer

  • Designed level progression, including difficulty ramp and 100+ hand-crafted levels in Unity for the free-to-play mobile game Words On Tour (iOS, Android, Facebook; responsible for concepts and specifications of new game features, and retuned level progression based on live data.

  • Designed feature concepts, wireframes, and asset lists for the picture-based free-to-play mobile game Trivia With Friends; wrote 1,000+ in-game questions and reviewed and edited all user-generated content.

Mighty Play

Game Designer

  • Created the game design for the Parents’ Choice Award-winning, augmented reality game Disneynature Explore (iOS); crafted the UI flowcharts, wireframes, and asset list.

  • Brainstormed features for prospective projects and presented concepts to clients.

  • Developed visual game design documents utilizing Balsamiq and Solidify to effectively communicate game designs to clients, artists, and engineers.

Tencent America

Game Designer

  • Designed new gameplay features to increase retention for the free-to-play Facebook game Fashion Avenue; also reviewed art concepts for approval and implementation into the game.

  • Wrote detailed evaluations of Triple-A console and PC titles for Tencent America; evaluated new games for potential publishing deals and top mobile games for potential licensing deals in China.

  • Analyzed social networking platforms and competing text messaging applications for WeChat.

  • Drove text rewrite from Chinese to English and made cultural design tweaks for Roco Kingdom.

Game Designer

  • Led complete design effort for Disney Princess: Enchanting Storybooks (Wii) and led art and engineering team in building working prototypes; partnered with production to define scope and mold the GDD, wrote storybook narrative, directed voice-over sessions, and designed/developed level progression.

  • Led concept design and level design for Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show (PSP); created scene layouts (including character/camera placement in Maya), designed rhythm-based cue sequences, wrote complete story for episodic cut-scenes, directed voice-over sessions, and edited music/sound effects.

  • Directed the music video background scenes and completed the level design for 10+ levels in High School Musical: Senior Year DANCE! (Wii, PS2, Xbox, PC); designed complex rhythm-based cue sequences, edited both music and sound effects, and utilized Maya to communicate camera, character, and VFX positions.

  • Managed half of the planned mini-games in Disney Channel All Star Party (Wii), overseeing art, animation, and engineering teams in achieving the design vision; contributed to project from brainstorming stage to prioritization to tuning game systems and adjusting environmental layouts.
